2010-11 Winter Program
First Winter Session (October - December 2010)
NJTL's First Winter Session will run for 7 weeks from October - December.
NEW THIS YEAR!
Beginner tennis in the winter! Children ages 5-10 will use the nationally recognized QuickStart tennis format including: foam balls, portable mini nets, junior racquets, etc. For more information on QuickStart, visit the United States Tennis Association's website http://www.midwest.usta.com/Juniors-Pages/midwest_junior_tennis_pathway/. The fee for beginner QuickStart tennis lessons is $25 per child.
COST
Registration fees are a one-time payment (not per class). The registration fee for QuickStart classes is $25 per child. The fee for intermediate and advanced classes is $50 for 2010 NJTL summer participants and $80 for non-summer participants. If an advanced player participates in both an instructional class and the match play, then the IRC East match play fee will be reduced to $25.
ABILITY LEVEL
Note: Age is as of 10/01/10
Tiny Tyke: Youth ages 5-6 years old.
Beginner: Youth ages 7-10 years old who are unable to serve overhand from the baseline and keep a consistent rally.
NJTL will not be providing lessons for beginners ages 11+ during the first winter session. Please check back in December for more details on the Second Winter Session (January - March).
Intermediate: Players should be able to keep score, serve a legal overhand serve from the baseline, and keep the ball in play consistently while rallying with another player.
Advanced: Players are typically high school tennis players or very strong middle school players.

As with other NJTL programs, healthy living and life skills instruction is incorporated into classes. All participants receive a free NTJL T-shirt, and loaner racquets are available as needed. Appropriate tennis shoes are required. Basketball shoes, cross trainer shoes, and black soled shoes are not permitted at racquet clubs.
TO REGISTER
To register, please complete a Registration Form (PDF, 402KB) and send with payment to NJTL at 911 East 86th Street, Suite 31, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Refunds are not available unless your class choices are full. A separate registration form must be completed for each child. Registration forms must be postmarked by Friday, September 24th. NJTL will notify you of your class assignment by phone or E-mail.
