Summer Program
- We provide scholarships for qualifying families. Call Tyler in our office at 317-429-9965 for more information.
- There are multiple locations to choose from for our classes (see below). Players may only participate at the site for which they registered.
- Classes will be held twice a week from June 5-July 21. The days of the week will be determined by location.
- There will be no classes the week of July 3-7.
- There will be a mid-summer tournament on Friday, June 23, and an end-of-season tournament on Friday, July 21. We will provide more information on those tournaments as we get closer to summer.
- There will be no tryouts for Levels 2-3 classes this summer. You can now sign up your child for a Level 1 (beginner), Level 2 (intermediate) or Level 3 (advanced) class. Note: We strongly encourage parents to visit our NJTL Level System page to see the skills needed to be successful in our Levels 2 and 3 match play classes before registering your child in an upper-level class. If you are unsure of your child’s ability, it would be best to err on the side of signing up for the lower level class.
- To help maintain the integrity of the Levels 2-3 match play classes and to make sure the players have similar skill sets, we reserve the right to move the player to a lower level class after the first week.
- Note: ALL Levels 2 and 3 players must be USTA junior members (it’s free!) and register on Serve Tennis. This is different from past years. You can register for a free USTA Junior membership here.
- We encourage ALL summer players to participate in the USTA Foundation NJTL Essay Contest (open only to NJTL players nationwide). This is a chance for your child to earn national or sectional honors for their essay. In recent years we have had several national winners who earned a free trip to New York City.
- We do not plan to reschedule any classes or tournaments due to weather. We will use an app to notify you of any class cancellations due to weather (we are no longer using the Tennis Locker app). More information on the new free app to come.
- Level 1 classes are designed for players who have either just started playing tennis or have limited experience, and are still working on being able to rally with another player. You can find more about our level system here.
- Level 2 and 3 classes will be held only at Ben Davis High School and Perry Meridian High School. These classes will consist of match play to get the players ready for competitive matches.
- The Jack Bradshaw Program is open to Level 3 players and will be held at Marian University from 9 a.m. to Noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- There are no refunds.
- All participants and family members must follow the policies and procedures of the school or park. Only participants are allowed on the courts.
2023 Summer Program Instructions
Please keep in mind that all participants must wear regulation tennis shoes. Black-soled running shoes, cross trainers and basketball shoes permanently mark the tennis courts and ARE NOT ALLOWED.
