Summer Tennis
- We provide scholarships for qualifying families. Call Tyler in our office at 317-429-9965 for more information.
- There are multiple locations to choose from for our classes (see below). Players may only participate at the site for which they registered.
- Classes will be held twice a week from June 3-July 19. The days of the week will be determined by location.
- There will be no classes on June 19 (Juneteenth) or the week of July 1-5.
- There will be an end-of-season tournament on Friday, July 19. We will provide more information about the tournament as we get closer to summer.
- Levels 2 and 3 classes will be match play with instruction. We will not have tryouts for our Levels 2-3 classes, but we strongly encourage parents to visit our NJTL Level System page to see the skills needed to be successful in those
match play classes. Participants may be asked to move down to Level 1, if necessary. - Note: ALL Levels 2 and 3 players must be USTA members (it’s free!) and register on Serve Tennis. You can register for a free USTA Junior membership.
- We encourage ALL NJTL players to participate in the USTA Foundation NJTL Essay Contest (open only to NJTL players nationwide). This is a chance for your child to earn national or sectional honors for their essay. In recent years we have had several national winners who earned a free trip to New York City.
- We do not plan to reschedule classes or tournaments due to weather. We will use the Band app to notify you of any class cancellations due to weather.
- Level 1 classes are designed for players who have either just started playing tennis or have limited experience and are still working on being able to rally with another player. You can find more about our level system here.
- Level 2 and 3 Jack Bradshaw classes will be held only at Ben Davis High School, Marian University and Perry Meridian High School. These classes will consist of match play to get the players ready for competitive matches.
- There are no refunds (except for class level changes).
- All participants and family members must follow the policies and procedures of the school or park. Only participants are allowed on the courts. Please note: We cannot guarantee access to restrooms at any of the locations.
Summer Program Instructions
Please keep in mind that all participants must wear regulation tennis shoes.
Black-soled running shoes, cross trainers and basketball shoes permanently mark the tennis courts and ARE NOT ALLOWED.
We will have extra racquets on site, but please bring yours if you have one.
