NJTL of Indianapolis hosted its annual Night at the Net fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Highland Golf & Country Club, drawing a crowd of supporters for an evening of tennis, pickleball, food, games, and auctions — all in support of youth tennis and education programs.
The event raised more funds than ever before, helping to expand NJTL’s reach to more than 2,000 children each year through tennis instruction, literacy support, and life skills development across core classes, afterschool programs, and new summer offerings through Indy Parks.
The night featured several special moments, including recognition of Sage Williams, one of six finalists in the USTA/Midwest Tennis & Education Foundation Essay Contest out of 28 NJTL chapters. NJTL Board President Joseph Eldridge was also honored with the Chuck DeVoe Award, which recognizes extraordinary commitment to the organization. Eldridge, a former NJTL participant himself, has served as board president since 2020 and has been instrumental in the nonprofit’s continued growth.
Guests also heard remarks from Zakariya Abdulbari, a former NJTL student who now serves as an instructor. Abdulbari shared how the organization helped shape his confidence, skills, and future.
NJTL of Indianapolis extends its heartfelt thanks to the board members, volunteers, donors, and community partners who made this year’s event such a success — and who continue to make it possible for thousands of Indianapolis youth to thrive through tennis and education.
